Stores : J.W.C. / After spending quite a bit of time walking the streets of Tokyo, I’ve selected a few liquor stores where you can window shop, buy, or taste whisky. This category does not include bars.

First of all, I’m starting this article series with JWC (Jule’s Whisky Collection).
This establishment is located in the Ginza district, specifically in the Ginza Six building on level B2. You'll be welcomed by a helpful and pleasant staff, all dressed in white lab coats—giving the place a unique twist and a strong sense of professionalism.
The store is divided into two sections:
JWC COLLECTION / The Bottles
They offer a wide selection of whisky, mostly Japanese, with many limited editions from the most well-known distilleries—Yamazaki, Hibiki, Hakushu, Nikka, Chichibu...
But also Kanosuke and Shizuoka (which are gaining solid recognition), as well as Amahagan, Yuza, and more.
They also have a few mini bottles that stand out from the usual selection.
JWC LIBRARY /The bar, where you can taste or sample certain spirits before purchasing them.
I found the prices to be quite high—like in most places in Tokyo—but a friend pointed out that they’re actually quite reasonable, especially for some hard-to-find bottles. And as of now, the Yen’s exchange rate makes it a good time to treat yourself. They also occasionally offer promotions on certain bottles.
